Terms of Use
Last updated: November 4, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PulseNet (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
PulseNet provides approximate measurements of network performance between your device and our test endpoints, plus educational articles about cybersecurity awareness. Results are estimates, not certified benchmarks, and can vary with device load, browser, VPN, Wi-Fi conditions, and server region.
License to use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal or internal informational purposes. You may not scrape the Service in a way that degrades availability, attempt to disrupt the infrastructure, or misuse the test endpoints for purposes other than interactive speed testing.
Open-source attribution
Portions of the measurement approach are adapted from OpenSpeedTest™ (https://github.com/openspeedtest/Speed-Test), licensed under the MIT License. That project retains its copyright. PulseNet's user interface and content are separate works.
No warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that results are accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $50.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) overload or attack the Service; (b) use automated bulk testing that harms other users; (c) reverse engineer except as allowed by law; (d) use the Service for unlawful surveillance; or (e) misrepresent results as official certification.
Third-party links and ads
Articles may reference third-party tools or sites. We are not responsible for third-party content. Reserved advertising regions may display third-party ads in the future; those advertisers are responsible for their creatives and landing pages.
Intellectual property
Except for open-source components under their licenses, the PulseNet branding, layout, and original article text are owned by the Service operator. You may quote short excerpts with attribution for non-commercial commentary.
Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country provide otherwise.
Changes
We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted.
Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent via the contact method on the About page.
